Stadl an der Mur is a beautiful summer resort. The mountains
provide excellent opportunities for walking, hiking or cycling and the area has much more to offer. Guests also have
use of a shared indoor swimming pool (unheated) and Jacuzzi free of charge (June-September).
The village has a leisure facility with an outdoor man-made swimming lake. There is a wooden play area
for the children, half pipe facilities for skaters, a tennis court and football pitch, all within walking distance of the
chalet.
Austria is also home to some beautiful
old castles, a number of which can be found in the area.
In
the summer why not take the opportunity to explore the local abundance of hiking trails at all levels of difficulty.
Altitudes vary between 800-2700m and access to Austria's largest Swiss stone pine forest is only a stones throw away.
For cyclists, Stadl is situated right next to the Mur River Cycle Route
and its timber bridge (Mursteg) is referred to as ‘the gateway to the Mur Valley'. Alternatively, for thrill
seekers, why not have a go at white water rafting available locally.
For those who would like a round of Golf, there is an 18-hole golf course only 10 minutes away in neighbouring St.Lorenzen.
For fans of The Sound of Music, why not visit the set
of the film. The film was shot on lots of real locations around Salzburg only 1.5hrs away. There are a number
of proffesionally organised tours available and we recommend those provided by panorama. Please visit www.panoramatours.com for full details.
The Croatian coast, Italy and
Bavaria are all within comfortable reach of the Chalet.
The summer also has plenty for the children. They can enjoy Kreischberg's dinosaur forest for an adventure,
the ‘nocky flitzer' toboggan run at Turracher Hoehe, a steam train ride or Horse riding.
As an added incentive, guests of Chalet Alpenrose are entitled to a 10% reduction at a number of local attractions.
Full details are available in the welcome pack.
